How you can be an Angel for Kevin
Throughout the course of Kevin’s journey people have asked the question, “How can I help?” This question is the driving reason angelsforkevin.com was created, to give friends, family and other entities the opportunity to share in Kevin’s journey. For some, that means being a prayer warrior, to others it means organizing and leading fundraising events, and others may just want to make a contribution of funds. Angels like these, and many more who are willing to give their time, talent and funds, will make a significant difference in Kevin’s progress.
The fact is, there are dozens of ways to become an Angel for Kevin, and now with a formal alliance with the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF), it’s easier than ever. All contributions are made directly to NTAF, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, in honor of Kevin Wooldridge, so contributions are tax-deductible. That makes fundraising efforts more appealing to individuals, companies, and other support organizations. Below is a list of how you might get involved and become an “Angel” for Kevin.

Prayer Warrior – If there is one thing we know, it’s that the power of prayer can move mountains. Your prayer is perhaps the greatest contribution you can make to Kevin’s cause. Knowing that hundreds, if not thousands of people are praying and interceding for Kevin on a daily basis is a gift that can only be measured in heavenly terms. Here are just a few requests we have for prayer:

  1. Healing for Kevin
  2. Funding for Kevin’s treatments in Costa Rica
  3. The Wooldridge Family (wisdom, endurance, vision)
  4. Provisions for Kevin’s extenuating health, nutrition and physical needs
  5. Platform to share Kevin’s Story and give God the glory

Direct Cash Contributions – There is no cash contribution too small, or too large, and they are all tax-deductible through the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF). Contributions can be made directly to the NTAF, in honor of Kevin Wooldridge. Expenses associated with Kevin’s journey range from the cost of treatments and travel expenses, to health insurance premiums and medications. The list of expenses goes on and on, and far exceeds what any one family should have to endure. To learn more about Kevin’s current needs see the Current needs for Kevin section of this website.

Other Contributions – Cash is just one of the ways to help with the extensive costs involved on a journey like Kevin’s. Other contribution possibilities include that of frequent flyer miles, hotel rewards programs, tangible assets of value that might be sold on eBay, pre-paid services, real property, automobiles, collectibles, jewelry and other items that might be converted to cash for on going expenses.

Love Offerings – Any small or large group can simply ask for love offerings, do Angel Trees, or place collection containers around their town asking for donations.

Programs & Events Leader – In association with our new NTAC alliance, angelsforkevin.com is actively looking for volunteers to lead efforts in coordinating and launching fundraising programs and events. Programs might include school or club fundraising, or developing new fundraising groups. Events to rally a community for Kevin might include:

  1. Concerts
  2. Walk-a-thon
  3. 5K Fun Run
  4. Bowl-a-thon
  5. Bake Sales
  6. Dinners
  7. Block Parties
  8. Community/Neighborhood Fairs
  9. Garage/Rummage sales
  10. Silent auctions

See the Angels Fundraising Ideas section on this website for more possibilities on how you may want to get involved with in your community.

Viral Fundraising – We all have a universe of friends, family and others we are connected to online. These days the quickest and easiest way to get the word out on anything is through email and online communities like:

  1. Facebook
  2. MySpace
  3. LinkedIn
  4. Plaxo

There is already an established Angels For Kevin group page on Facebook. Please join the group and share it with all of your Facebook friends.
There are hundreds of sites online that keep us all connected. We are looking for as many people as possible to simply pass on Kevin’s story by inviting their connections to visit angelsforkevin.com and consider what God would have them do to make a difference in the journey of this little boy.

Online Auctions (eBay) – One of the easiest ways to raise funds these days is through collecting donated items in your community and listing them on eBay. Virtually any home you visit will have something they are looking to get out of the house and out of their way. Dozens of people are putting items of value in dumpsters, trash cans, and alley ways, that could be put to good use by being sold in a garage sale or auctioned on eBay. These same people would be more than happy to donate these items, possibly for a deduction, and have them carried away without hassle.

Special Projects Leader – For creative volunteers, there may be special projects that come to mind to raise funds. For instance:

  1. Coordinate with friends and family to collect recipes and create a cookbook to be sold as a fundraiser.
  2. Create a calendar for sale
  3. Sell Crafts
  4. Sell baked goods

Virtually any item that you have a talent for creating can be sold to the public to raise funds. Special projects of this kind are only limited by the boundaries of your imagination.

Corporation Matching Programs  – Many companies and corporations have programs in place to match their employees contributions to a certain non-profit organization. Check with the companies you work for to double your efforts.

Website Promotional Space – On the new angelsforkevin.com website, we have reserved a place for you to promote your company, church, club or organization for a specified contribution to the NTAF in honor of Kevin.

Established Fundraising Programs – There are literally dozens of companies that offer existing opportunities for fundraising on a local level and online. A simple Google search online for “fundraising programs” will bring up an extensive list of programs available. Here are just a few as examples:
Krispy Kreme Fundraising   http://www.krispykreme.com/fund.html
Little Ceasar’s Fundraising   http://www.pizzakit.com/
ESPN Coaches Fundraising   http://www.coaches.espn.com
See’s Candies   http://fr.sees.com/index.cfm/Fundraising/Fundraising_Programs
Morris Cook Books   http://www.morriscookbooks.com/

Would you please prayerfully consider what God would have you do for Angels for Kevin?
